Data-Driven Graphics Using Illustrator’s Variables Panel

STEP 1. convert excel file to csv

I used a pipe “|” as my csv separator .
using this tutorial is how you can convert an excel (xsl) file into a csv. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/21456/export-or-save-excel-files-with-pipe-or-other-delimiters-instead-of-commas

STEP 2. create Illustrator XML from csv (use tutorial: http://www.monolinea.com/using-variables-illustrator )

for: pipe “|” separated values, in the JET_VariablesFTROU.js, change it so it says
var tabChar=”|”;

this is an example of my csv
